Castwave Privacy Policy

What plays on your TV stays on your TV.

Castwave has no account, no analytics, and no server of its own. Here's exactly what it does with your IPTV login and playback data.

01

Information Castwave Collects

Castwave is a player for an IPTV service you already have — it doesn't provide content or a login of its own. To connect, it asks for:

Castwave never asks for your name, email, or any personal information, and has no sign-in or account system of its own.

02

Where Your Data Is Stored

Everything Castwave stores stays directly on your device — there is no backend server or account system operated by us:

03

How Your Data Is Used

Your login is used for exactly one thing: connecting directly from your Apple TV to your own IPTV server to fetch its channel/movie/series catalog and stream playback — the same way any Xtream Codes or M3U player works. Preferences and watch history exist purely to make Castwave itself function (remembering your favorites, resuming a video, filling the Top Shelf shelf). None of it is used for advertising or profiling, because none of it goes anywhere but your own IPTV provider and your own device.

04

Local Network & "Sign in from Your Phone"

Typing a server URL and password with a TV remote is painful, so Castwave offers an optional shortcut: it shows a QR code and briefly runs a small local web server on your Apple TV's own Wi-Fi network. Scanning that code with your phone lets you type the same details on a normal keyboard instead — the credentials go straight from your phone to your Apple TV over your own local network, never out to the internet or to Castwave's developer.

Remote only

Skip this entirely and type your server details directly with the Siri Remote's on-screen keyboard.

Phone-assisted

Scan the on-screen QR code and enter details on your phone — only active while the sign-in screen is open.

05

Third Parties & Sharing

Castwave doesn't integrate any analytics SDK, advertising network, or crash-reporting service, and makes no network calls of its own beyond the local-network pairing above. Every playback request goes directly from your Apple TV to the IPTV server address you provided — we don't sell, rent, or see any of it, because it never passes through anything we control.

Castwave Pro subscription. Purchases, free trials and renewals are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Castwave never sees your payment details or Apple Account; the app only reads a signed receipt from Apple on the device to know whether Pro is active. Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.

06

A Note on Content

Castwave is a general-purpose player for the Xtream Codes / M3U playlist standard — it does not host, provide, endorse, or curate any channels, movies, or series. Whatever appears in the app comes entirely from the IPTV server address you supply. You're responsible for having the right to access whatever content your provider serves.

07

Data Retention & Deletion

Signing out clears your saved login from the Keychain. Deleting the app removes everything Castwave stored on your device — Keychain entry, preferences, favorites, recents, resume points, and the Top Shelf data — immediately.

08

Children's Privacy

Castwave is not directed at children, requires an existing IPTV subscription to do anything at all, and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. Since nothing ever leaves the device to reach us, no child's information is transmitted to us or anyone else.
